messy, amber eyes. Looks kind of small. Always carries a bow and a

Playby: Lily Cole
Parents: Apollo=Dad, Adrianna Braise=Mum
General History: Her mum loved the seaside and the sun, and she
was always saying how nice it is to live in England, but in the sun.
It was often raining at the beach there, but Adrianna was optimistic
and just said "It'll brighten up tomorrow!" Her job is working in an
ice-cream/souvenir beach shop, which doesn't fetch much money, but
Adrianna doesn't care.
She met Apollo when he came to her shop to buy an ice cream, and
instantly fell in love. From that day on, the sun in Cornwall was
always brilliantly warm, and everyone was happy. In time, they had
Orla, who obediantly played on the beach, but found that she hated the
seaside as she grew up. She liked big open spaces, but she'd have
preferred to live in a NORMAL house instead of a little place next to
the sea.
Her school was a tiny seaside primary school, and on her first day of
school, she was feeling angry about her dad never being around. She
glared at a member of her class for asking why she was angry because
she didn't feel like explaining it all. But the child screamed; Orla
had managed to temporarily blind her. The teachers told her off,
thinking she had poured something in the child's eye. But Orla kept
feeling angry, and kept accidentally blinding children in her class.
Then she was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, so the kids got their
revenge in secondary school by bullying her.
There was only one person at secondary school who seemed to like Orla.
He was a boy called Alex, and he always seemed quite fascinated by the
girl's fiery nature. At first he was a bit wary of approaching her (as
were a lot of people), but eventually Orla grew to trust him, and when
she was feeling particularly angry, he was always there to put a hand
on her shoulder and she would feel calmer.
But when Orla turned twelve, Alex asked to talk to her in private. He
revealed that he was in fact a satyr, and explained all the problems
she'd had at primary with the whole 'blinding-little-children thing'.
He suggested that she should go to Camp Half Blood, a place in America
where she could learn to harness her powers. They had to go in a boat
(in case Zeus didn't want them in the sky), despite Orla's fear of
water. On that journey, she also discovered she got horribly seasick.
After about a week or two at Camp, Apollo claimed her. She felt the
old waves of anger coming back when she thought about how long it had
taken him. So she resolved to fight really hard at Camp, to take out
her anger, and then her dad might be proud of her, and she might be
able to get to know him. Maybe.
Weapon of Choice: She is best with a bow and arrow, and has
excellent aim. But, she is still quite good with a sword - she prefers
a light, thin sword which is fairly easy to handle. She is kind of
average at other weapons, but if a bow and arrow or a sword is
unavailable, she'll probably just go straight in with her bare hands
and take out all her anger in a series of painful punches.
Roleplay Sample: Orla hoisted a quiver onto her back and
selected an arrow. She placed it into the bow and thought aloud: "If I
shoot from THIS direction, the wind won't affect the fly of the arrow,
and there will be a decent spin so I can get the enemy right where I
want to..." She eyed the dummy in the distance and drew the string.
Then she stopped. "Wait... how did I know that?" She let go of the
arrow, and sure enough, the wind did not affect the fly of the arrow,
it spun like a bullet and cut cleanly through the air.
Like she'd predicted (and hoped), the dummy would have lost an eye if
it were a real person.
"But it was slightly right of the pupil..." she muttered, and whipped
out another arrow. She was such a perfectionist - everything HAD to be
exactly right. "Okay. Shoot from here, decent spin... okay." She
pulled the string until taut, closed one eye, and released. The arrow
landed just left of the previous one, directly in the middle of the
pupil. She went up to the dummy to inspect the damage.
"Hm," she sniffed, indifferently. "Not bad, I suppose."
