General Appearance: Dev stands tall and lean at 6”01 and 170 lbs. He isn’t bulky, but his muscles are sinewy from all the exercise he gets at camp. His hair is a dark brassy color, and his eyes are a stormy blue. Like his father, he has a proud stature and a grim but handsome face.

Parents: Zeus and Nina Soren
General History:
Nina Soren was young, beautiful, and married to a man eight years her senior. It wasn’t a loveless marriage, but it was going through a rough patch when a handsome stranger came along. She’d been sitting alone in the restaurant after her husband had to cancel at the last minute, and the stranger was so nice, and so willing to offer a shoulder to cry on.
He gave her a number. She told herself she’d never call it and would remain faithful to the man she married. A few days later, she was meeting the stranger again. It would only be a one-night stand, she told herself. Unfortunately, she had a string of one-night stands...all with the same guy.
A torrid affair and nine months later, Devereaux was born. Somewhere along the line, the marriage had fixed itself as well, and Nina cut all ties with the stranger even though she knew Dev was the stranger’s son, but her husband didn’t seem to notice. Not until much later, anyway.
Devereaux never quite fit in with his brothers and sisters: he had brown hair where his younger siblings had fair heads, and blue eyes when the younger kids had big brown ones. Even stranger, Dev’s temperament was so different it was eerie. Dev was level-headed, charismatic, and had a magnetic presence. The rest of the family was composed of friendly people who were incredibly approachable, but never had enough presence to become immediately noticeable.
Nicolae knew Dev wasn’t his, but that didn’t stop Nicolae from treating Devereaux as one of his own. Dev got no special treatment and was expected to act as the eldest sibling of the Sorens. Dev was always responsible and cared for his younger siblings as best he could. His only problem was that he never, ever asked for help. Not because he never needed it, but because he stubbornly never wanted to, no matter how much trouble he was in.
Dev would have been an excellent student had it not been for his dyslexia, and he was certainly aware of the fact that there was something strange about him. People sometimes got hurt on contact with him. The most obvious, however, was when, after he almost fell off a cliff during a field trip, he floated. In the air.
No one but his best friend saw that, and they keep it a secret.
His powers never affected his ability to socialize, and Dev wasn’t exactly the friendliest person, but he was affectionate, and this was enough to win him enough votes to become class president every single year. He was fifteen when he was first called to Camp Half-Blood, and has been heading there each summer for three years now.

Something about stormy weather always calmed him. However, he wasn’t Blanche, and his younger sister was terrified to death of the lightning and thunder. Dev smiled at her and offered a cup of hot chocolate.
“Feel better soon, all right?” he said softly.
Blanche was such a little girl sometimes. He stared out the window, his mind racing a mile a minute and never resting. He had plenty to do tomorrow; lots of club meetings to attend, and he still hadn’t gotten his mother a gift for her birthday yet. He kept meaning to head to the mall and order a bouquet for her, and maybe buy her a bracelet, but he was just so busy sometimes.
He frowned. He better check on Cam. Cam wasn’t half as scared of storms as his sister, but you never knew when it came to seven-year-olds.
