General History: It was late on the clear night of September 4th when Conner Evans got the biggest surprise-and in his eyes, mistake-of his life. The man woke to a bright light outside his door and when he ran down to the door of his mansion, he found a baby girl on his doorstep along with a letter. The letter left no room for error, this was in fact, his own flesh and blood daughter. Apparently one of the many girls he had met and spent the night with when he was fresh out of college nine months ago had gotten pregnant. He had never seen any of them again after those wild nights, so how was he supposed to know that he had a daughter?
Despite his unpreparedness and reluctance, Conner took his daughter in, naming her Maxine. However, he was not used to having a kid around the house due to his usual bachelor lifestyle. He quickly hired someone to take care of Maxine, a nanny of sorts, just to get the baby off his back. This woman's name was Callie, a bright young woman of 23 who had happened to be an old high school friend of Conner's and needed the extra cash. With Conner constantly gone, Callie was the only one that was ever there for Max as she began to grow up. The nanny saw the brunette as her own daughter, and to Max, Callie was the closest, and only, family she had.
Although Callie had no clue about Max's real heritage, she was quite suspicious that Max wasn't at all normal. The girl seemed to trail bad luck, even at a young age. She was constantly kicked out of schools after some strange, inexplicable event. It discerned Callie and eventually she got up the nerve to ask Connor about it. He hung his head in shame, stating that he had no idea who her mother had been and explained that that was most likely the reason she had seemed to be acting out. Instead of alienating Callie though, it seemed to draw her closer to Max while pushing her father away even more.
Max had grown used to the idea of not really having a dad after a while, and accepted that Callie would be the only one that was ever there for her. However, this didn't hold true, for on Max's 9th birthday, as she and Callie were driving home from a special dinner out, the beloved nanny was killed when she wrapped her car around a tree, attempting to avoid hitting something big and shadowy. Something only Max saw as a monster (not that she had any idea what it was at the time though).
With Callie dying in the seat next to her, Max managed to get out of the wreck of twisted metal and heat, only to be confronted with the Hell hound Callie had been attempting to avoid in the first place. But as she squeezed her eyes tight and prayed for it not to hurt, something saved her. Most surprisingly it wasn't exactly a person, but a half goat-half boy. After hastily introducing himself as Murphy, he carted her away to the strange and mysterious Camp Half Blood.
Today at age 14, Max has lost a lot of the old kindness and lightheartedness that she had as a a child. That seems to have died with Callie. She is tough and cold as she is calculating and smart. She really doesn't mean to be that way, but it leaves her with lots of enemies and very few friends. Max has never sought to go back to the real world after the night she was whisked away, and has been a year-rounder for five years. She is content where she is and has no intentions of leaving any time soon. Unless, of course, it's a quest.
Weapon of Choice: Daggers and a sharp wit.
Roleplay Sample:Awww, do I have to? You guys know me! *Is stared at unamused* ...Fine
Max was not to be disturbed. Well, not unless you wanted to die that is. Her gray eyes were narrowed in complete concentration and a drop of sweat trickled down her brow. She didn't pause though, just kept moving at the dummies at lightning speed, looking more like she was handling six daggers rather than two. The brunette lunged at yet another dummy, stabbing it in the stomach and ripping up to spill its straw guts all over the ground. Slowly, she lowered her daggers and put them away at her sides, staring at the carnage she had created around herself. Then, the brunette let out a quick laugh, her eyes sparkling with enjoyment. It wasn't directed towards the 'killing' she had just done though. She was just happy to be out in the sun, working her muscles to a dull ache. It felt good to be home...
